Digital Coffee Podcast

This podcast dedicated to all things tech. The story of how this came about was ordinary, maybe, but what I want to do with it, is extraordinary. I was working at a coffee shop and pondered my love for coffee and tech. I have also grown up around tech. I also had a new passion for coffee. This idea stayed with me until I figured out the name. Digital Coffee was born. So, with this idea I look at tech as I do coffee. How is the “tech brewed?” In my reviews, I look at it as a taste test, except I don’t drink the tech. I mean, who would? If you do, please let me know how I can! Anyways, if you feel like this is a great space to learn and have fun with tech, then, feel free to support me. I don’t mind at all! It's tough to be secure in the tech world. We hear about big companies being the target of another hack. Even the government cannot stop people from hacking their servers. It's tough for people to know who to trust. However, there are many great options out there, too! I hope that you backup those important files. They can be locked away by an attacker and then used against you. If you backup your files daily, you'll have nothing to worry about. It's the people that do not which is the issue. You may think you'll never be hacked, but that is a mistake. I hope you take you cyber security seriously.

Today's Episode

Ad blockers, the necessary evil of online browsing. Most people use it to do anything on the web. Ads have become a problem. They are disruptive to the flow of posts. There are full-page ads that disconnect the consumer from the content. Publishers and marketers created this mess. This is a big problem. My professional pushed people to use ad blockers. Now, Facebook has to do something drastic. They need to make sure people are seeing ads. This is where the majority of their revenue comes from. More ad blockers used, then no money generated. I may not like Facebook, but, I understand why they are doing it. I also talk about the state of social media marketing. It's similar to tech. There's a lot of new tech being used and video is the dominant medium for this space. The future is interesting.

Anyways, listen from more of my insight.

Today's Episode

Tech, it's an interesting topic to discuss. There's always something great and terrible happening. It's in a constant state of change. It is the best analogy of life. We are all in a constant state change. Life demands us to change or die. Tech is at a major crossroad for change. If you know anything about it, this does not happen that often. We've seen some great innovations and some small ones. We have VR and AR coming of age. We have cars that will drive themselves. AI development is leading to some interesting experiments. I will predict that AI will be deployed to be our cyber security. They will be way more efficient than how we do it today.

Now, businesses are going to need to care about security. We've seen too many examples of hacks that lead to lawsuits. There have to be better protocols for stopping most of these hacks. This should not be happening once a month. This needs to stop. Companies need to find a better way. Please, back up your data.

Anyways, enjoy this episode!

Today’s Episode

There’s been an explosion of news coming from QuakeCon. Today, they revealed Prey and Quake Champions gameplay trailers. They got me excited for these games. Quake is bringing back the old school shooter vibe. This is lacking in many first-person shooter games. The reason, Call of Duty influence. This game has enhanced or infected first-person shooter games for years. Many developers tried to replicate their success. This usually led to clones that were not good. It’s great to see these old games coming back. It reminds all the old gamers about the heyday. It also makes you aware how old you are. It’s a great time to be a gamer!

Today's Episode

I've said it before, marketers and advertisers do not make great ads. They are usually ok, but, mostly bad. The new reports show that publishers and marketers care about the impressions than trust. If we do not find a way to make them better, there go the profits. However, Facebook is doing well in that aspect. They also love to stuff anything with ads. They are ad happy. That's a problem. It's why people use ad-blockers. The problem is, it's only going to get worse. We need to find a better way. I hope we can strike a balance between revenue and trust. Trust is hard to get back.

Marketers know that trust is everything. Let's continue to build that trust between our company and customers. Anyways, on with the show!

Gather around techies! Let me tell you a story about Instagram. They made a Snapchat clone. The very least copied a feature. It's called Instagram Stories. Yes, now Instagram has a 24-hour destructible picture. This story does not end. Not to be outdone, Snapchat released geostitchers. The battle is heating up! LinkedIn finally added a video feature. This is not big news because every other social network had a feature. It's great to see LinkedIn finally jumping into it. I feel like LinkedIn is behind with lots of features.
